First Two Weeks

Hey all! WE MADE IT through the first week and a half! We appreciate all of your prayers, emails, meals, comments, and calls. We feel so loved! Zachary is beginning to adjust to a schedule (though he prefers to sleep in the days still instead of the nights), and life is getting a little easier for me. I've been up and down over the last week and a half. I've had a cold day and a flu-like day, not to mention the hormone stuff, and I'm sleeping at wacky times while my body is recovering. Brayden and Greg are both troopers, really sacrificing a lot for me and Zachary.

Zachary rolled over from his belly to his back 4 times on day 4 (one time one way and three times the other), but hasn't done it since. Four of us saw it, and we attempted to take a video to prove it...unfortunately we have the first part on video, a snapshot during, and video after he finished rolling over. Alas! At least there were four of us that saw it so you know I wasn't just having a loopy moment. :)

Here are a few pics of Zach with his eyes open (and with his dark hair which you can hardly see) and a shot of Brayden and Grandpa D at the marina on a bike ride/jog. Brayden got his new bike going quite fast on the flat marina surface!! (The second time was a bit slower because he decided to stop and chase birds, get newspapers, etc).

We are Home and More Picts

Katy and Zach came through like champs, and we are all back home and doing fine now. I'm going to fill the rest of this with picts, which is I'm sure is what everyone wants to see - and let me tell you, there are plenty of them to choose from.

We got Brayden a gift commemorating the big day - a big brother bike.

Brayden likes his new little brother, as you can see from how he holds him in the above picts, and the neat sign that he put together with Grandma and Grandpa.

Introducing...

Zachary Gus Anderson!

He was born on Saturday at Kaiser Vallejo on April 19, 2008 at 8:33 PM. He weighed 9lbs, 9 oz and was 22 1/2 inches long. The delivery went smoothly and Katy and Zach are both fine. We are all back home and adjusting to life as a new family.

Thanks for all of your prayers,
Greg, Katy, Brayden and Zachary

38.5 Weeks

Had my 38 week checkup today. The boy is measuring in at 9lbs 6oz (+/- a pound and a half), so I have a scheduled induction Saturday if I have not gone into labor ahead of then.

Here's a picture of him from today.

37 Week Checkup

No big change this week. This wasn't a huge shock for me because of my lack of change over a month with Brayden. She didn't measure the baby because I was in a different room and the machines read everything differently. She did "stir up some trouble" as she put it, and if my body is ready I should go in to labor. We'll see if it works...but I'm not yet convinced.

I do have an end period, however. They will induce at 39 weeks if I have not gone into labor. I don't know if they'll do it on that day or just in that week, but it looks like I should have the baby within 10 or 11 days. Only God knows the exact timing!

Our Short Visit with Chris

My brother Chris had a conference in SJ on Friday, so G, B, and I drove down to Sunnyvale to have dinner with him and my parents. It was a nice time. We all laughed a lot, and Brayden really enjoyed having his uncle around to play trains outside and to boss around as much as Chris would let him.

Here are a few pictures. It was hard to get one that looked decent of all of us, but a few shots came out cute.

Katy Pregger Pics-35 weeks

I'm now full term! I was having some significant contractions yesterday while I was in for monitoring, so they kept me on the monitor for an hour. I think they're all convinced Baby A will make an appearance soon. I'll believe it when I see it because I was 2cm/50% with brayden for a month and was late. Obviously, we'll keep you updated!

Ashley keeps asking for preggers pics, so here are a few from Easter. I was 35 weeks pregnant. I've now got two more weeks of growth, but thankfully no real swelling anywhere. This baby is mostly baby!

36 Weeks...and counting

Had another doctor appointment today. Looks like the baby had another growth spurt. He's measuring in around 8lb 1oz (give or take a pound). His femur is long too, so it looks like he's tall. I don't have the exact measurement, but it was above 7cm and in the 90something percentile. We'll see how tall he is when we meet him!

The doc saw on my NST sheet (the monitoring I do at the hospital 2x/wk) that I was having relatively frequent contractions, and then checked to see if they were doing anything yet. I'm 3cm dilated. Next week, she'll try some methods to try to bring the onset of labor without inducing me. If my body is ready to go into labor, I should have the baby by the end of next week. If not, she'll try again the following week.

Here is today's pic of the baby. Looks pretty similar to the last one...she commented on the chubby cheeks. At least this one may favor me a bit with the Derr cheeks...Brayden has always looked just like Greg. :)
