Trip to Ohio

Here is a pic of Brayden with his great-grandma Augusta. Four generations were together in one room when we took the picture. What an amazing thought...we leave a legacy through our children--Brayden (and any other future kids) is how Greg and I will impact this world most directly. How will I steward the responsibility of parenting? How will I pray for and teach Brayden to live a life of passionate pursuit of the Lord?

This is Katy's first post! I am done!! This summer has been a little over the top for me. I was involved in my final 3 classes for school, worked, and had Brayden--I would not recommend this approach to life to anyone. We celebrated my completion by taking trips to Ohio and California (with a trip to Greg's hometown, Aspermont, TX, in the near future) to introduce everyone to Brayden.

Brayden took his first plane ride when he and I flew to Ohio to visit college friends before we met up with Greg, my mom, and my grandma in Cleveland. He did well--only a few cries and screams...but I highly recommend flying with your spouse too...

I had a great time--it sure made me miss my close friends; they are all around the world and involved in various ministries and jobs, so I don't get to see them that often. I don't think people know what they miss as far as the possibilities of depth, connection, and fun until they experience them, but I sure recognize the absence when I am in places where I do not connect in deep community. It is always a sweet reminder when I visit Ohio or California.

Postmodern

Just wanted to throw a question out for everyone - kind of an informal poll.

What do you think of when you hear the term "postmodern," "postmodernist," or "postmodernist"? Please don't look it up or go to a dictionary, I would just like to see what general thoughts are about the terms. And keep it honest (don't look at any other comments - if there are any- before you answer).

Thanks!

New Ride picts

Here are some pictures of our new ride:

More picts of Brayden

Well, there have been some requests for more picts of Brayden, so here goes!

Here he is saying "this is how much Mom and Dad love me".
Above, he is saying "I really like my mobile, especially after a big feed."Brayden is doing well. Katy was just saying today how much bigger he is now, and how much stronger - he wiggles around a lot more now that he can move his head easier. He doesn't have a lot of control yet, but it will come.
