DTS

"Tell Katy i am interested.....I have heard that you can not attend DTS unless you tell them if you are mid-Trib, post-tribe, etc.... I was wondering what she put and why? "

No such thing...at DTS, you have to sign a statement that holds to 7 core essentials of the Christian faith (Bible is inspired word, etc). A student can hold any view on a lot of various areas including these, the HS, spiritual gifts, etc. The faculty, on the other hand, must sign off on the entire doctrinal statement yearly. At graduation, the 7 essentials are reassessed.

DTS gets a lot of flack for being dispensational--and I know many reformed folks that want to have no part with it. What I found at DTS was a variety of viewpoints backed up by scripture. I loved that I knew the position DTS taught and could make my assessments based on that knowledge. In addition, we read a lot of works by scholars that hold to other views. My education was enriched by all of the books and discussions from the various view points.

January

It has been a big month for us. We have recovered from having 8 guests here at Christmas (+ 3 of us) and in the mean time, Brayden has been busy. He has figured how to crawl and stand up holding on to tables, cribs, etc and started eating veggies (he was pretty averse to peas, but they have grown on him). Look back in a few days for new videos of B-boy crawling and standing up...we are waiting for approval from the site we load them to.

Greg and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary (and Becky's birthday) on Jan. 3 by hitting a fondue shop while some friends of ours watched B-boy. If you haven't done fondue before, I highly recommend it. It is fun to do at home, but the restaurant does the preparation and clean up--makes it so much easier!!

The biggest area I have been chewing on the last few months relates to fear vs. walking in faith. I realized that I let fear paralyze me from trusting what God has called me to--specifically in this case, writing. A few weeks ago, I wrote an endorsement for a Bible Study that my professor wrote. (She did a great job --it is called the "coffee cup series" and will come out in March. I wrote for Espresso with Esther.) It was terrifying (even with just a few lines) to realize that it is going down in print. I am learning how to trust God to walk through these experiences instead of relying on my self sufficiency.

I'll be running a the Oklahoma City Memorial half marathon with Ashley L. in April, so I have begun training--I am so out of shape!

Sorry about the delay in writing. We hope to post more frequenlty now that we are in the swing of things for the new year! Till then!
