Trip to Ohio
Here is a pic of Brayden with his great-grandma Augusta. Four generations were together in one room when we took the picture. What an amazing thought...we leave a legacy through our children--Brayden (and any other future kids) is how Greg and I will impact this world most directly. How will I steward the responsibility of parenting? How will I pray for and teach Brayden to live a life of passionate pursuit of the Lord?
This is Katy's first post! I am done!! This summer has been a little over the top for me. I was involved in my final 3 classes for school, worked, and had Brayden--I would not recommend this approach to life to anyone. We celebrated my completion by taking trips to Ohio and California (with a trip to Greg's hometown, Aspermont, TX, in the near future) to introduce everyone to Brayden.
Brayden took his first plane ride when he and I flew to Ohio to visit college friends before we met up with Greg, my mom, and my grandma in Cleveland. He did well--only a few cries and screams...but I highly recommend flying with your spouse too...
I had a great time--it sure made me miss my close friends; they are all around the world and involved in various ministries and jobs, so I don't get to see them that often. I don't think people know what they miss as far as the possibilities of depth, connection, and fun until they experience them, but I sure recognize the absence when I am in places where I do not connect in deep community. It is always a sweet reminder when I visit Ohio or California.
