Gualala
This past weekend Greg and I got away to Gualala, CA (sounds like wah-la-la) to celebrate our January anniversary. 3 years already!
We drove about 3 hours up the coast. It was a beautiful drive, but my stomach didn't fare to well around the windy curves! Our hotel had semi-private balconies looking out over a river meeting the ocean and we could walk down to and along the beach. The view was great! It was also fun to walk around the small town and venture through some of the shops. Most of the food was without taste, but with a little salt and/or seasonings would have been excellent. I think the highlight of the weekend, however, was in our ability to play games and read without interruption. We played mastermind for several hours! Next time, I think we'll skip the fancy hotel and go for a camping trip or have my folks pick up B-boy and take him to their house while we stay here.
We missed Brayden, but he was great for my parents, and he got to spend a lot more time outside than he does with me. I think he was in heaven! His look when we got home was priceless. He was angry and happy all at the same time. Very cross with tears but not ready to leave us either. Fun!
